…Celebrates Thanksgiving Service, Inaugurates New Executives
As with all meaningful journeys, the EGOGA 3rd Global Reunion had a worthy and fulfilling conclusion. On Sunday, 21 December 2025, we formally drew the curtain on the reunion with hearts full of gratitude and a deep sense of accomplishment, as we gathered at the Anglican Cathedral (ASCATH), Egbu, for a Thanksgiving Service and the inauguration of newly elected executives.
Following the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday (Day 3), which culminated in the successful election of a new executive council, leadership was seamlessly transferred from Ijeoma Egbunine Enekwe to Daisy Uchegbu Ekeh, who will steer the affairs of EGOGA for the next three years. The smooth and rancour-free transition was a powerful testament to the maturity, unity, and institutional sustainability of our great association.
The Thanksgiving Service was further enriched by the beautiful and soul-lifting renditions of Christmas hymns by the ASCATH choir. The Bishop was so impressed by their performance that he openly commended the choir and called on the congregation to support them financially. The response, particularly from EGOGANs, was immediate and generous, reflecting how deeply moved we all were by the choir’s excellence.
In a warm demonstration of hospitality and sisterhood, the newly inaugurated Global President hosted members to a sumptuous luncheon at her parents’ residence. It was a joyful gathering marked by laughter, banter, singing, embraces, and fond recollections of our shared past—moments that reminded us of the enduring bonds that unite us.
Indeed, the events of the day were a strong signal of brighter and greater days ahead for EGOGA. On a personal note, I pledged my full support to the new Global President and her team as they work to take EGOGA to even greater heights.
